So we loaded up the tools to finish the jobs that we started yesterday... There was a group of guys doing concrete work - they were pouring a sidewalk that leads from the new bathrooms to the pool... It's finished now and looks great!
I went back to work on the shelves in one of the houses... They're all installed and they look great (See the picture from yesterday)... After we put the wooden shelf/drawer units in we realized that we couldn't open the drawers! It looks like you should be able to open them, but they are so tight you can't get your fingers in there to open them... So we had to get some drawer pulls (knobs) and attach them today... Jen was back on the roof rolling the marshmallow fluff... The hills are alive with the sound of painting!
After we were finished we wrapped everything up and headed over for lunch... Jen and I could eat Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches every day... On our way over to lunch we checked out the progress on the ramp... The ramp is being built so that trucks can get up to the basketball court... Trucks need to get up to the basketball court so that we can deliver concrete and materials up to the area for the new school!!
Northstar raised so much money for the multi-room schoolhouse that we are able to begin preparations to break ground! This is amazing, and it will be a total blessing for those in this community... I'll definitely be sending pictures of the progress...

After lunch Jen got to go to a place called Mundo de Adeveras with most of the team members here... They brought kids from several orphanages to go and play at the park... Mundo de Adeveras is the coolest "amusement park" ever... It's set up like a small city with grocery stores and fire stations and TV studios and movie theaters and Home Depots (corporate sponsorship)... In order for the kids to be able to do the cool stuff they have to earn points on there little credit card... For instance, you get a certain number of points for going to the grocery store, then you get more points for answering 911 calls in the fire station, then you get more points for helping print the newspaper... All of these activities are fun on their own, but when you accumulate enough points you can do more extravagant things... They have a place where kids can ride in bumper cars (behind the VW dealership), they can go on the life-size airplane and take a mock flight, or they can trade in their points for the standard Chuck-E-Cheese-type toys...
But they didn't do that today...
Today they got to play in a huge outdoor sports complex at Mundo de Adeveras... They have a big soccer field, batting cages, places set up for refreshments, etc. I'm hoping Jen is out there right now taking pictures for me to post later!!
Tonight we're doing worship by the pool because 8 people want to be baptized! Everything is planned out and most things are set up and ready to go... We are excited and exhausted and everything in between, and we are so glad we are here...
