Tuesday...

Tuesday was another day on the property... I got up extra early to do some work in House 3, just some small stuff that I had to tidy up from the day before... Jen had what Todd calls the "Mexico Sleepys"... He says that on your second or third day in Mexico you get incredibly and inexplicably sleepy... When she did get up she had an upset stomach, so she was out for part of the day... But she's feeling great now, all rested and ready to go!

I worked with Dain installing the kitchen countertops... We had to cut these to length so it was a little tricky, especially in the corners... The harder thing to do was cut out a hole for the sink... The kitchen sink in House 3 is huge, and it takes up almost the entire depth of the countertop space... It was really hard making the cut against the back wall under the window... But we worked it out!

John had a really hard time tying the water supply line into the main house water line... The two pipes were just slightly out of alignment, but he did a great job "manipulating" the copper... Now the Gas, Water and Electric are all hooked up in House 3!

The group that was working on the property with us mostly worked on painting House 4... Jen ran around and snapped off some picture of these folks... There's kind of a trade-off when it comes to painting... if you are cool with heights, you can paint the exterior... Painting the exterior of the house is great because you can move pretty fast and feel like you're getting a lot done...

But if you aren't cool with heights it means you get to paint on the interior... No fear of falling here, but you have to be really neat and clean... If I had to choose between the two I'd probably paint the ladder...

Perhaps the highlight of the day, and the buzz around the property was something somebody posted on the board outside the main building... The staff here has set up a "Static Blog" to go along with the devotional material that everyone is reading... The idea is for people to post their thoughts and ideas on the wall so that people can stop by throughout the day and read what other people are saying... It's like an internal version of what I'm doing now!

So anyway, one of the intern guys ran up to me laughing really hard about something somebody wrote on the blog about me... It is very funny, and we can't figure out who wrote this up there... We all have theories, but we are afraid to ask the people in the groups because it might be embarassing for the writer... We all think it's hilarious though... It's very encouraging, even though I'm not a teenage intern who has chosen to pursue God instead of girls and school glory... Just click on the picture and have yourself a good laugh... We sure are!

John and Corrie invited us to hang out with them at night after worship... I was in a hurry tearing everything down so I totally forgot my dang camera... We went to this really cool place called Manhattans, and everything there has a New York theme... Jen got the Big Apple Pie dessert (cleverly named), and I got the SoHo Chicken Strips (not-so-cleverly named)... But they were both great, and it was really cool hanging out with our two friends... I can't believe I forgot my camera...

Caught up on the blog today. Hope both of you are doing well. I will be working at the house this weekend. Hope to get some more painting done - either the front windows or the hallway and entryway. Love you guys.

Shwew, Jen, I'm glad you didn't get too sick and Chad, I hope you are feeling better! Just wondering- are you guys really in Mexico? It seems a little suspicious between the Italian food, and New York themed restaurant.... :) Jen, I can't wait to hear more about the sweet little girl you also got clothes for. I'd love to see some pictures when you guys see her again!!! I'll probably be away from the computer until you get back, but I can't wait to catch up then and hear more stories! Although I'm not seeing any drywalling going on ..... :) Much, much love and tons of big hugs to you!!!!!
